Bincho

The Tokyo offshoot of a famous Nagoya unagi chain, this restaurant offers the best eel I’ve ever had. It’s apparently grilled on charcoal without ever being steamed as is the usual custom, and the resulting smoky crispyness is addictive. Great place to bring out-of-towners who want to eat good unagi without burning a hole in their pocket (we paid 5,500 yen each for a two-person set that also included crab miso tofu, salad, mentaiko tamagoyaki and eel appetisers).
